In one case, a man who said he had eaten the drug, currently sold legally in the Upstate, fired gunshots inside his home and at his neighbors in Cowpens, deputies said.

After his arrest, the man told deputies there was a dead body in his home, but no body was found.

A woman was also arrested Tuesday and charged with trespassing after she harassed a neighbor repeatedly. She told deputies she had been snorting bath salts.

Both people were taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for observation before they were jailed.
